Professor Ioannis Chasiotis is one of four assistant professors to receive a 2007 Xerox Award for Faculty Research. Professor Chasiotis was cited for his leadership and expertise in the field of scanning probe microscopy in experimental mechanics. For additional information about Professor Chasiotis' research see the Nanomechanics and Materials Research Lab web site(http://www.ae.uiuc.edu/research/labs/nanomech.html).

Professor John Lambros is one of four associate professors to receive a 2007 Xerox Award for Faculty Research. Professor Lambros was cited for his excellent record of accomplishments in research in the area of experimental applied mechanics, and in particular, in the characterization of material response under static and dynamics loading. Additional information about Professor Lambros' research can be found on the High Strain Rate Mechanics Laboratory web site(http://ssm7.ae.uiuc.edu/Lambros/).
