At the College Award Convocation on April 27, Professor Conway will receive the College of Engineering Teaching Excellence Award. This award is given annually to a faculty member or graduate teaching assistant who exemplifies outstanding teaching ability in the College of Engineering. Professor Conway teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in dynamics, aircraft and spacecraft flight mechanics, and optimal control theory. He has appeared on the Incomplete List of Teachers Ranked as Excellent by Their Studentshttp://www.cte.uiuc.edu/dme/ices/incldir.html 51 times during his 25 years of teaching. He as won the UI AIAA Student Chapter Aerospace Engineering Teacher of the Year Award, chosen by vote of students, 8 times. In 2005, he received the College of Engineering’s Rose Award for Teaching Excellence and the Everitt Award for Teaching Excellence in 2006. He was a finalist for the UI Campus Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching and received the campus Undergraduate Course Development Award in 1997.
