Questions from Class
- Question (Sep 9).
GPS receivers use doppler shift to find speed and heading.
"I was curious about which doppler shift the N95's GPS hardware measures to find velocity. After class, you explained that it's the shift between the satellite and the device; I was initially confused because someone in the class (I think Aaron) suggested that it was the shift between the device's two antennae. In any case, I think it's pretty remarkable that GPS devices as a whole have an accurate enough model of GPS satellite motion to be capable of inferring useful data from doppler offsets."
