 Computational Mechanics Group

Professor Philippe H. Geubelle

Department of Aerospace Engineering

and Beckman Institute of Science and Technology

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Welcome to the Computational Mechanics Group's web page

As described in the summary of our current and recent research interests, this research group develops and implements a variety of novel numerical tools for a range of multiscale and multiphysics problems such as those encountered in

  • quasi-static and dynamic fracture mechanics
  • dynamic properties of materials
  • thin films and MEMS
  • computational design of novel biomimetic materials
  • manufacturing and failure of advanced composites and structural ceramics
  • aeroelasticity
  • damage phenomena in heterogeneous media such as solid propellant and other energetic materials
  • geophysics
  • etc.
I invite you to take a tour of this web site.  If you have any question and/or comment, don't hesitate to contact me.
