Aerospace Engineering Welcomes New Faculty and Staff

The Department of Aerospace Engineering is pleased to welcome three new faculty members and one new staff member this year.

Professor Cedric Langbort

Professor Cedric Langbort joined the department in March.  He received his doctoral degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Cornell University in January 2005.  Professor Langbort works in the field of aerospace information technology.  His focus is on understanding the dynamics and control of large-scale distributed systems such as multi-vehicle missions.

Another Stanford graduate will join the department in October.  Professor Daniel Bodony received his doctoral degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2004.  His is interested in unsteady flow phenomena, with a particular emphasis on flows that generate sound, using large scale simulations (large-eddy and direct numerical simulations) and analytical methods.
